What does IP mean?

IP codes indicate how well suited a product is to various environmental conditions, and defines the degree of protection against penetration by foreign objects and water. “IP” stands for “International Protection” as the certification is an officially recognized European standard not to be confused with a statement like “water repellent.”

What do the numbers 67 stand for?

The first digit defines the IP code for protection against the intrusion of a foreign object. While 0 indicates a lack of protection, the number 6 indicates that a product is resistant to intrusion by dust. The second digit indicates how well the product is protected from penetration by water. A higher number means a higher level of protection.

2 – protection from foreign objects with a diameter > 12.5 mm

3 – protection from foreign objects with a diameter > 2.5 mm

4 – protection from foreign objects with a diameter > 1 mm

What does IP67 certification mean for my bea-fon device?

The IP67 certification indicates that the device is dust resistant, and water resistant up to a maximum depth of 1 meter for no longer than 30 minutes. This, of course, refers to clear water only; other liquids such as salt water, soapy water, alcohol or heated liquids are not included in the IP67 certification. Keep in mind that all device covers are to remain completely closed at all times to prevent water penetration.
